Description
The LuminOx Sealed Optical Oxygen Sensor, developed and manufactured by SST, is part of the LuminOx range of factory-calibrated oxygen sensors that use luminescence quenching to accurately measure oxygen levels in ambient gas environments.
This version of the sensor—LOX-02-S—features a sealed back that makes it ideal for applications where only the front face needs to be exposed to the sample gas. This design enables more efficient sample gas management and leaves the sensor pins easily accessible outside the sampling area.
Like other models in the LuminOx range, the LOX-02-S incorporates internal temperature and barometric pressure sensors, meaning compensation is handled onboard, with no need for external circuitry. The sensor communicates via USART, simplifying system integration.
Based on SST’s patented non-depleting luminescence technology, the sensor offers significantly longer service life compared to electrochemical or galvanic alternatives. It is also completely solid state, free of hazardous materials such as lead or liquid electrolytes, making it 100% RoHS and REACH compliant.
By measuring the partial pressure of oxygen (ppO₂) and using internal pressure data, the sensor can calculate and output both %O₂ and ppO₂ values, along with temperature and barometric pressure readings—making it a versatile choice for reliable, low-maintenance oxygen sensing in demanding environments.
