Wado Kai Central Karate have had a great start to the 2017 season kicking off with Josh Burns being selected for the Scottish All Style Team and headed off to Bulgaria. Josh had an impressive performance for his first All Style European Championship. Josh is home and as determined as ever to try again next year.
WKC received the fantastic news that we have six members selected to represent Scotland at the European Wado Championships in Paris. Charlie Lindsay and Kirsten Bonar have been selected to as referees and Grant Bonar has been selected as Scotland coach. They head off in November and cannot wait to see what their members and the rest of the Scotland team will achieve.
Wado Kai Central Karate have also planned to take some of their younger kids to Luxembourg in October to compete in the Luxembourg open championships. They want to give all the kids a chance to go on a flight and compete abroad and fly the flag for Scotland. WKC gave the kids a letter and on it the told them they had been selected to represent the club at the Luxembourg championships, the excitement was indescribable to say the least. The kids work hard during training and also practicing at home and deserve the trip away.
So far this year WKC Karate have attend 11 competitions up and down the country. They have a busy 2nd half of the season planned with six of their members in the Scotland team going to Paris and Germany. They also have their Luxembourg trip to look forward to!
