SST’s ExplorIR® range of NDIR CO₂ sensors is engineered for challenging environments where fluctuations in pressure, temperature, or physical movement are part of the job. Designed to measure both low and high concentrations of carbon dioxide—up to 100%—these sensors offer exceptional durability and reliable performance even under harsh conditions.
Utilising robust solid-state LED optics based on SST’s SprintIR® platform, the ExplorIR® sensors combine low power draw with high-speed response. They consume just 3.5mW during continuous operation while providing two CO₂ readings per second—making them up to 50 times more efficient than conventional NDIR sensors.
This extremely low power requirement, coupled with instant start-up, makes the ExplorIR® range well-suited for integration into portable, battery-powered, or self-powered wireless systems. Built-in auto-calibration enhances long-term accuracy and stability.
Measuring only 20mm in diameter, the sensor’s compact form factor allows for easy integration into handheld instruments, probes, and space-limited devices, while its rugged build ensures consistent performance in demanding applications such as industrial safety, environmental monitoring, and portable gas analysis.
