The Optomax Industrial Glass Liquid Level Sensors from SST are engineered for harsh industrial environments requiring a robust and reliable liquid level detection solution. These solid-state, optical liquid level sensors feature a stainless steel housing and a borosilicate glass sensing tip, enabling operation under high pressure, high temperature, and chemically aggressive conditions.
Each sensor uses an internal microcontroller to manage the solid-state optical design, which combines an infrared LED and phototransistor. In air, the infrared beam is internally reflected; when the sensor tip is submerged in liquid, the light escapes, causing the output to change state. These sensors reliably detect a wide range of liquids, including oil and water-based fluids, and remain accurate even in the presence of foam or bubbles.
The Optomax Industrial Glass sensors offer versatile N and P type output options, capable of sinking or sourcing up to 1A, and operate across 4.5–15.4V DC or 8–30V DC. Outputs can be configured to signal high or low in wet or dry states, making them ideal for industrial automation, process monitoring, digital interfaces, and inductive load applications.
With threaded mounting options, these sensors are suitable for external installations and function across a wide temperature range of -40 to +125°C. Optional output delays help prevent false triggers in systems with sloshing liquids.
