The Optomax Industrial range of liquid level switches is engineered for industrial applications, providing robust supply voltage compatibility and outputs capable of directly driving higher power loads.
These solid-state, microcontroller-based optical sensors use an infra-red LED and phototransistor optically coupled at the sensing tip. When immersed in liquid, the infra-red light escapes, triggering a state change. The sensor reliably detects the presence or absence of almost any liquid type, including oil and water-based fluids, and remains insensitive to ambient light, foam, or small bubbles.
The Optomax Industrial sensors offer multiple N and P type output configurations, capable of sinking or sourcing up to 1A at supply voltages ranging from 4.5–15.4Vdc or 8–30Vdc. Outputs can be configured to indicate high or low signals in either wet or dry states, with options for inductive loads or digital interface integration.
Designed for flexible industrial mounting, the sensor housing features threads suitable for external installation and operates across two temperature ranges: Standard (-25 to 80°C) or Extended (-40 to 125°C). The sensors are available in two chemically resistant materials: Polysulfone, ideal for general applications, or Trogamid, suitable for food and beverage processing.
